Cash Income of Chinese Farmers up 11.9 Percent

The per capita cash income of China's rural residents reached 1,797 yuan (US$225) from January to June, a real growth of 11.9 percent.

During the January-June period, wage income of farmers grew 20.1 percent to 626 yuan per person, according to figures released Wednesday by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

In the first six months, farmers' income from selling farm produce grew 6.5 percent year on year to 754 yuan per capita, and their operational income earned from other sources grew 13.6 percent to 275 yuan per capita, according to the NBS statistics.
